Our vision

With over 40,000 homeless veterans nationwide, a constant need is affordable housing. A newly emerging crisis is adequate housing and jobs for military service members returning from the Gulf Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Our military men and women should never find themselves on the streets or living without hope. Our vision is for sustainable communities free from homelessness and poverty.

Fighting Hunger

The NELACD VA Food Project provides a monthly food card for veterans with low or limited income who reside in Ouachita Parish, Louisiana.

Rapid Re-Housing

The NELACD Re-housing Project is open to veterans in Ouachita Parish, LA.

About Us

We believe in taking action with the urgency to raise public awareness about the most pressing issues affecting the lives of men and women who served and are presently serving in the U.S. armed forces. We’re promoting initiatives that are bound to make a difference in the lives of members of the military community who are impacted by homelessness, Post Traumatic Stress Disorders, substance abuse, incarceration, and for men and women presently serving in the U.S. armed forces to cope with the effects of long-deployment duty.

FEMALE VETERANS ARE THE FASTEST GROWING SEGMENT OF HOMELESS VETERAN POPULATION.”
